NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME was started under the thought of MAHATMA GANDHI in 1969 with only 40,000 volunteers at 37 University. Today it has more than 40,00,000 volunteers all over India. It is the largest Non-political Youth organization of India. It undertook the responsibility of personality building as well as nation-building. Today more than 8550 students are associated with the N.S.S. department of SAURASHTRA UNIVERSITY.
N.S.S. brings out the latent talent of the student, In addition, this N.S.S. cultivators accountability of students to the society, the proximity between rural and urban culture, awareness of culture and its maintenance, duration, brotherhood morality it's culminating into the building of the nation.
