About Ph.D. in Management


Ph.D. in Management is a 3-year doctorate course in management Subject. The candidates who are willing to take up this course must have the minimum eligibility by completing their master’s degree and M.Phil. in some subjects is the prerequisite for this course as per Saurashtra University Rules.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate's having post-graduate degree with at least 55% (excluding gracing) marks for open category and 50% (excluding gracing) for candidates with SC, ST, SEBC (non-cream layer) and differently abled.

Ph. D. Programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of seven years.

Admission to Ph.D. Program

The admission shall be based on the criteria notified by the Saurashtra University (Ph.D. Ordinance of Saurashtra University and other notification issued by Saurashtra University time to time) and University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations. 

Admission Process Step:

  •  Entrance Test (PET) (Conducted by Saurashtra University).
    •  Passing standards for the Ph.D. entrance test will be as per UGC norms, i.e. 50% for open category and 45% for reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC-non creamy layer and PH)
  •  Submission of Research Proposal.
  •  Presentation of Research Proposal and interview/viva before Department Research Committee (DRC).
  •  Declaration of Admission Merit Result as per Saurashtra University Rules issued by time to time.
    •  The final list of a qualified candidate for Ph.D. admission will be prepared as per UGC norms based on 70 % marks of Ph.D. entrance cum merit test + 30 % Departmental Research Committee (DRC).
