Electronics Department, Saurashtra University, Rajkot celebrated “Shikshak Parv” from 5-9th September 2022 by launching the “For the Students By the Students” series. 

Faculty members of the department gave training on “Arduino basics and its applications” to semester -3 students and later on the same students gave training to semester-1 students in form of workshop from 5-9th September 2022. 

The entire activity was carried out after their normal study time. The workshop was completely managed and executed by students. 

FOR THE STUDENTS BY THE STUDENTS:
When we think of student engagement in learning activities, it is often convenient to understand engagement with an activity as being represented by good behaviour (i.e., behavioural engagement), positive feelings (i.e. Emotional engagement), and, above all, student thinking (i.e., cognitive engagement). This is because students may be behaviorally and/or emotionally investing in a given activity without actually exerting the necessary mental effort to understand and master the knowledge, craft, or skill that the activity promotes.

FOR THE STUDENTS BY THE STUDENTS helps to welcome students’ opinions and ideas into the flow of the activity, using informational, non-controlling language with students, giving students open space they need to understand and imbibe an activity by themselves.

Keeping the above in mind Electronics Department trained the students of semester-3 in a technical subject and prepared them to train next-gen students. The entire week, Sem-3 students imparted technical knowledge on Arduino and its application to Sem-1 students in workshop mode. 

The entire workshop was coordinated/moderated by faculty members of the department mainly Dr KP THUMMER and Dr HN PARIKH under the able leadership of the head Dr. MN JIVANI
